All Things Pumpkin

It's fall, and around here that means it's pumpkin time! We've been to the pumpkin patch for a day of fun,

 we've carved our jack-o-lanterns,

and I've even made pumpkin pie from scratch--cut up the pumpkin and baked it to get my puree--a first for me! 😋

But I'm also a crafter (as you know 😉), so of course we've been doing pumpkin crafts too! Today I wanted to share with you three of my favorite pumpkin-related crafts.

This first one I found on Pinterest, and absolutely fell in love with! Beaded pumpkins are so cute to display with your fall décor, don't require a lot of skill or equipment to make, and are so easy your kids can make their own--making it a great way to practice fine motor skills, especially for the little ones. As you can see from ours, they don't have to be simply orange--they can be any color you want to make! Grab some pipe cleaners and pony beads and make your own today! Here's the link if you want to try this yourself.

Next up are these easy-to-sew fabric pumpkins I found at PositivelySplendid.com. I have literally made dozens of these, both for my own home and to sell. They really are so simple to make, and you can have a lot of fun using different kinds of fabric and trims to make each one unique. I've used up a lot of the upholstery samples given to me over the years to make mine, just because the upholstery fabrics have such great textures, and I love the way lace ribbon contrasts with the heavier textiles, but you can use any fabric and trims you have on hand. (Just watch out that the kids don't try to use them to play ball--apparently it's very tempting! 😆)

Finally, if you're ready to try your hand at some easy applique, check out my step-by-step tutorial on making these beautiful pumpkin placemats complete with a free downloadable pattern! They make a great addition to any fall tablescape and are a great way to increase your sewing skills!

Happy fall, ya'll!
